The music scene in Detroit has a long history of producing many forms of music and special artist.  Keith “K1” Tucker is one of those artists; he has been globally influential in the age of “Detroit Techno and Electro.”  As an artist and DJ, Keith has captured this vision in his extensive catalogue.  Co-founder of AUX-88, and also known as DJ K-1, Alien FM, KT-19941, and his (Alter Ego) movie score sounds of Optic Nerve.  Tucker created electro mayhem in the 1990s that predates the electro revival so prominent today.

 

Tucker has recorded as Frequency on the famous label Metroplex while touring live and DJing around the world.  Tucker performed with and programmed Juan Atkins first live  shows as Model 500, performed live as Aux 88 and Optic Nerve, and has toured extensively as DJ K1.  Tucker left Aux 88 in 2020 to explore his own personas and creating music with his record label PUZZLEBOX Records.  Tucker’s many releases, interviews, reviews and performances in the U.S. and Europe, have given him the recognition he deserves.

 

Call him what you want but by any other way, but don’t call him blind.  This visionary from Detroit has brought his unique brand of dance music to the awaiting ears of the world, recording his new Optic Nerve LP “Uncharted” on Jeff Mills’ Axis Records, his “Far Away” EP on Soma Records, and collaborations with Anthony Rother, Carl Finlow, Detroit In Effect, Anthony Shakir, Cosmic Force, DJ Godfather, Slam, The Exaltics, Strand and extensive remixes for so many in the genre.
